Preston was totally loving bubbles today.
I feel this is the start of a long relationship with bubbles.

The ladies in our Relief Society at church gave Preston a book!
It's all about "tails" and the outsides of it crinkle, which he loves.
He tries to turn the pages with his mouth, and likes to grab on to the ribbons on the outside of the book.
He's such a little bookworm.

Preston tried a sippy cup for the first time at his Nana's yesterday, and it's all he's talked about ever since. So we decided to get him his very own.
It might take him awhile to get use to it. Right now he's more interested in banging it around and spitting water out the sides of his mouth. But I'm sure with some time and practice he'll be great.

Preston LOVES to have his back scratched.
He'll just sit there and not move and stare while you do it.
It's even more cute when he gets little baby goosebumps because of it.

We had a pioneer activity/dinner at church tonight.
Which means I had an excuse to put Preston in overalls!!
And I'm ALWAYS looking for an excuse to put him in overalls.

We had a web chat with John and Rox today who live in Canada.
It was really really good to see them, and see Rox's pregnant belly one last time! (so cute!)

Today Preston was more interested in eating his tie then wearing it.

On our shopping trip yesterday we also got him a bath seat.
He loves to take baths and splash, but wiggles so much I cant hold him steady, but cant sit well enough on his own to just sit in the sink.
Solution= bath seat!
He loves it!!
Just haven't quite mastered washing his hair while he sits in it.
Give us time!

We got a highchair!!!
Preston looks so tiny in it.
Also kinda looks like he's strapped in to go parachuting.
The big tray comes off and also has an insert that comes off for easy clean up.

Once Upon a Child (on baseline/val vista) is an amazing used children's store.

We got something else, but you'll have to wait till tomorrow to see!

Today poor Preston learned about the fury of the blue suction bulb.
He's sick.
Chest congestions, runny nose, cough, fever.
My poor baby!
The doctor say's its an upper respiratory infection and that he should be ok in about 5-7 days.
In the mean time we'll keep the blue bulb close by.

We decided it was time to get Preston his own (old/used) cell phone.
Ours were sustaining significant drool damage.

We really like Preston's new onesie.
Mostly because the fish's eyes remind us of Preston's.
And yes, he's a keeper for sure!!

Preston spent a lot of time playing trains with his cousins today.
I think its safe to say he loves trains.

Poor Preston's been a little sick today. I'm guessing because of the shots yesterday. He had a fever this morning, and has been lethargic and whiny this afternoon. It's so sad not to see him smiling and happy.
But I'm sure that he'll be back to his old tricks tomorrow.

Preston had his 6 month checkup today.

Height: 28 inches- 95 %
Weight: 17.4 lbs- 50%
Head Circumference: 46cm- 95%

Translation: His bones are growing nicely

He loved laying on the tissue paper on the exam table and crinkling it up. He also loved making high pitch noises when the doctor was trying to listen to his heart. Dr. Jacobs said everything looks perfect. We can transition into more solid foods now, stage 2 foods, and continue to work on his sitting up (which he has almost mastered). He also said that what we thought was a molar coming in is just a saliva gland, normal for babies.

Then it was time for the immunizations. The oral one came first, which he has always loved. Didn't spill a drop. But he takes his feedings very seriously.

1 shot in the Right leg.....

2 in the left.

He only cries for about 10 seconds after his shots, and as soon as I pick him up he stops. He's so brave!

And now, some fun things about Preston at 6 months

He wears 6-9 month clothes, but can still squeeze into some 3-6mo outfits

He's still never worn, or even tried on a pair of shoes.

Wears size 3 diapers

Eats everything. We were worried he would be picky when he refused green beans and carrots, but on the 2nd and 3rd try he was fine. His favorite meal would be bananas mixed with oatmeal rice cereal (he prefers the oatmeal to plain rice cereal)

Still sleeps through the night from 8pm-6am. Except that one glorious day he slept in till 7:30.

Flips regularly from his back to his stomach and then tries to move, but just ends up doing the worm instead. He arches and pushes with his feet and moves in a circle and all around, and wants to crawl so bad, but hasn't figured out how to quite yet.

LOVES cell phones. Especially tasting them.

Will insist (in every way he can) that he see's any picture you take of him with the camera. Also enjoys watching video's of himself.

Squeals at a sound not known to man. Sounds a lot like a baby raptor.

Still prefers to be swaddled when sleeping, but must have his feet uncovered, and face half covered.

Wants to drink out of a cup like a big boy and isn't horrible at it, however he is great at drinking out of a Smart Water water bottle.

When he makes sounds now (except the velosaraptor calls) he tends to make sounds with them. He's big on the mmmm sound and bbbb sound.

Laughs likes crazy when you try to "beat him up" in a fake boxing match. He's vicious with his uppercut.

Doesn't generally get scared at loud or scary noises, except when you yell out GOOOOOOOOOOAAALLLLLLLLLL when someone scores a goal in soccer. Then the tears come.

Is every bit as fun now as he was 6 months ago. Probably more. We love having Preston around, and showing him off. He's the happiest, most smiley baby I've ever seen. And he's all ours.

Today we found out Patrick got a promotion at work!!
We all did a little happy dance.
There was spinning involved.

Ever since we've been styling his hair he's been very interested in his brush and comb.

PRESTON IS 6 MONTHS OLD TODAY!!!!!
His 6 mo check up is on Friday, so we'll post some fun 6 months stuff after that.
I wonder if it's too early to start planing his 1st birthday party....
He is after all halfway there!

Jimmy left today for BYU.
We're all just a little bit sad.
When he comes back in November/December Preston will be crawling!

Family get togethers mean time with cousins. Or rather 2nd cousins.
Preston and Dexter.
Dexter is 5 days older then Preston.
But they both have red hair!

Preston and Alyssa.
They have never met before, but got along splendidly.
Plus she had some really fun toys.

He's so hip!

Spiked his hair with gel today!
He looks older.

Bruce came to join in on the fun today.
3 little boys all under 18 months.
It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
Bruce and Gabe spent the day throwing balls and sitting in the basket full of balls and Preston just tried to grab anything within arms length.
We're tired.

Gabe came to spend the day with us today, and it was great.
He's 13 months, compared to Preston's almost 6.
It was a lot easier then I thought it would be.
Preston loved Gabe's clapping, and Gabe loved Preston's head.

We got out the tunnel to play with today. He can't crawl through it quite yet, but he has a lot of fun being inside.
Also we recorded a great video of him playing peekaboo and laughing.
He's in a fun mood tonight.
EVERYTHING is making him laugh.

Look who's SO CLOSE to sitting up! He can stay perched in this position for short periods of time, then topples over. Just gotta work on sitting up a little straighter.

Today was a jammie day, for all of us.

I'm still not feeling good, but this guys smiles make me feel a little better.

Preston got to hang out with his cousins today (Keaton, Ethan, Larissa).
We went swimming and then watched Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs while eating taquitos and pizza.
It was great.

Oh, and the pictures are going to not be great quality for awhile, as I decided to take the camera into the pool with us today.
I know, I'm awesome.

These two spent a lot of time together today because I was sick.
