Prestons Ticker

Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

By the way, Preston did great in his new bed! He stayed in it all night and didn't fall out. The only downside is he did wake up an hour earlier then normal. And this afternoon when he went to take a nap he wandered around for a little bit & kept knocking on the door wanting to get out, but after I put him back in the bed he was fine. So big!
Today we had the chance to go with a friend of ours from church to the Phoenix Children's Museum.
We'd never been before, but i've seen pictures from people who have gone and so we were super excited at the chance to check it out!
Today was the last day to use the free admission coupon that a lot of preschool teachers gave out, so needless to say it was PACKED. But that didn't stop us from having fun!

They had a kitchen area just Preston's size with lots of felt "food" where he could make a pizza or cook us up something good. You know how much Preston loves pots and pans, so he was in heaven!

Of course he had to taste it. . . He proclaimed it was good. I have my doubts though.

They had a grocery shopping area where he could push around a shopping cart and load food in and out of his basket. We never made it to the checkout area though because he just kept filling up his cart and then taking everything out. He probably did it about 6 times before I pulled him away to go explore another area.

There was a "fort" room where you could build your own fort or just hang out and hide. I was surprised at how much he liked it. Looks like we'll be making lots of forts out of couch cushions at home now!

There was a place with tricycles that you could ride and take through a "car wash".
Preston wasn't too interested in getting on his own bike, but his friend Jaycee gave him a ride on her's and he had a good time.

And the last room we went in was just for kids 4 and under and there was all sorts of things he could climb up on, or balls to roll/throw, a house to play in and a mailbox that he spent a lot of time putting legos in and then taking legos out of.

Needless to say it was AWESOME. So so perfect for little kids, and it has things that appeal to all their senses.
We're already looking forward to the next time we can go and take Patrick with us. We didn't get to see half of the fun stuff they had, but we LOVED what we did see!

Preston is officially a big boy in a big boy bed.

We were going to wait till the baby gets here to put him in a toddler bed, but then yesterday when he went down for his nap he climbed and fell out of his crib.
We took that as a sign that it was time to change beds.
Doesn't he look so big?!?!

So far he's been in there for about 18 minutes and I haven't heard anything from him. . .
So either he is asleep or is busy "organizing" his closet.

We'll let you know how it goes tomorrow!

We LOVE getting fun things like postcards in the mail.

Don't believe it?
Believe it!

I dunno Preston. . . I'm not sure that's how the pro's do it. . .

I'm happy to say that after 23 days of singing "Happy Birthday" Preston has chosen a new favorite song he likes to sing.
p.s Preston, the babies on the bus are probably saying "waa waa waa" because their poking their fingers in their eyes like you.

Preston is getting really really good at cleaning up after himself.
Sometimes mistakes are made though and pigs end up in the ball bucket.

I tried to tell Preston that he's too big for the Bumbo, but he didn't listen.
And then he got stuck.

Our last night with Jimmy.
It's been a FAST few months with him & we're sad to see him go.
But we know he'll be back soon & he'll teach Preston even more great things, like how to put your arms up and scream GOAL, and call out YEAH whenever anyone walks up the stairs, or how to shuffle. Good times.

Playing in the rain is always fun!

Although sometimes it gets loud and that's scary.

Wednesday, August 17, 2011

Sad to say Preston's spoon skills still leave a lot to be desired.

Tuesday, August 16, 2011

Not the best picture, but you can still read his shirt, which is all that matters!

Monday, August 15, 2011

Preston has had a cold/cough & been cooped up in the house for the past few days, so today we decided to do something fun.
First we went swimming, which as always he loved, and then for lunch we went to Peter Piper Pizza!

It was a well deserved treat!

Preston's new favorite hobby- finding whatever he can to put in the kitchen sink.

Now if I could just teach him to put dishes in there instead of shoes we'd be set!

By the way, yesterday was Preston's 19 month mark! That last month went by super fast!

Giddy up Cowboy!!

Tuesday, August 9, 2011

This morning in an attempt to get some vegetables in Preston I made us a green smoothie.
(Spinach, strawberries, banana, peach yogurt & ice)
At first he was super excited because he associates the blender with getting a malt.
He didn't hate it. And he was much more into drinking it when I would let him hold the cup.

Yep, I think we'll be making more of these in the future!

And this is why Preston now sits with a tablecloth under his chair when he eats. . .

Sunday, August 7, 2011

I wonder how long Preston will let me dress him in outfits like this before he starts to object...

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

Such a good helper at the grocery store!

By the way, those Power-aids are Jimmy's, not mine or Preston's.
$.50 each at Bashas this week when you buy 15!

Such a sweet smile from a sweet boy.

Noah turned 1!
We got to go to his birthday party, and had lots of fun.

Noah was distracted by the balloons so Preston took over helping him unwrap his presents.
