Prestons Ticker

Lilypie Second Birthday tickers

We are slipper wearing people in this house.
So when I saw these slippers for Preston the other day I couldn't resist.
They've come in handy with the cooler weather we've had the past few days.

(he's not wearing shorts, his pants just get pushed up when he's in his entertainer)

It was super cold this morning, so Patrick made a fire.
It kinda hypnotized Preston.

Sunday, November 28, 2010

Preston was wearing this pretty dang adorable sweater to church today.
The only problem was if it was zipped up all the way it looked like he had a really long neck. . .

and if it was zipped down he kept trying to bite the zipper.

Looking good is not always easy!

Preston's been practicing his walking lately thanks to his push toy.
Lots of baby steps & lots of falling is involved.

Friday, November 26, 2010

We've really been having fun with Jimmy who's home for Thanksgiving.

Seriously this kid is too cute!!
I'm trying to decide how many of our Christmas pics I wanna post....
(mostly because I don't want people to know what picture we're using for our Christmas cards so it will be a surprise)
Till I decide enjoy this one

(my shoes are way cute, I KNOW)
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

Wednesday, November 24, 2010

We took our Christmas pictures today!
Enjoy an exclusive sneak peak!

Tuesday, November 23, 2010

Preston decided to be like his Daddy and grow out a beard.
A bubble beard that is!

Monday, November 22, 2010

We went shopping for Thanksgiving today!
Our turkey weighs just about the same as Preston does.
But Preston is much cuter then the turkey.

Beans beans the magical fruit....
The more you eat, the more you....

When we were in Texas my Aunt showed me how to use her enormous quilting machine & we worked on making a quilt for Preston.
We didn't get it finished while we were there, but she was nice enough to finish it up and send it to us!
I love the colors of it, and it's extra neat because she stitched Preston's name into the quilt 3 different times.
The first 2 were easy to find, but I had a hard time finding that 3rd one!
I don't know about you, but I think Preston looks extra cute sitting on it!!

Preston was in an amazing mood tonight!
Not only did he have a bad case of the giggles during dinner time, but he was also showing off his new clapping skills!
We love this boy.

Thursday, November 18, 2010

A trip to the mall just isn't complete without a visit to the pet shop.
Preston loved seeing all the puppies, especially the ones that were attacking each other.
We walked around the store and he waved to all the dogs.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

You know your having an off night when you have total permission to get messy while eating your dinner and instead you cry, whine and don't want to eat.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

Preston's friend Gabe came over to play today and brought some blocks with him.
A lot of time was spent building towers & knocking down towers.
I think someone will be asking Santa for some blocks for Christmas :)

Monday, November 15, 2010

I went through Preston's clothes today, and boxed up the ones that are too small.
I always get a little sad when he grows out of something.
I'm super sad that he's now too big for his rattle booties that Krissa got him.
He's been wearing them all day, kicking his feet.

ps, yes he is sitting on top of an old stereo. I promise he does have normal regular toys, he just prefers to play with things like wooden spoons, spatulas, paper towel rolls and old stereos with lots of knobs to turn.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

Preston has these Cardinals socks that he wears every Sunday.
Gotta support the team!
I should add that we haven't washed them all season because we don't want to wash away all the luck.
Doesn't seem to be working too well. . .
But we promised Andrew, so we'll keep it up!!

Preston is 10 months old today!!!!
Already we're saying "next month we'll be saying he's going to be a year in a month."

Just a few things about Preston at this stage in his life:

*He babbles all the time. Dada is his favorite phase. Mama, gaga, dit-da, namnam are also heard throughout the day.

*Is still in size 3 diapers, size 3 shoes, and usually in 12 month clothing. Except for this shirt we bought at the Houston airport. It says it's a size 2 (not 2T, just 2) and it fits him perfect.

*He thinks he can stand and not have to hold onto anything to balance. This is not the case. He still has to use 1 hand to hold onto things, but his balance is improving!

*He still does his "butterfly stroke" crawl, but lately has been crawling more and more like a real boy on his hands and knees).

*We're working on waving, and he's picking it up, but the kid has got one violent wave. I suggest shielding your face if your holding him and he starts to wave.

*I went in to cover him up last night about 4am and he was asleep, but whispering in his sleep "dadadada". Super cute.

*Has a love for bread. He truly is my son. He appreciates a good breadstick just like his mama.

Preston's little hands get so cold when we go for our walk in the morning.
So we got him some mittens to keep them nice and toasty.

Thursday, November 11, 2010

Preston's such a good kid!
He's very tolerant of anything that gets put on his head and doesn't try to take it off.

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

It's FINALLY starting to cool down around here.
This is great news because we have a lot of really cute long sleeved/winter outfits just hanging out in Preston's closet.
Like this little number:

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Preston sustained his first major head injury today.
See that big bump in the middle of his forehead?!
Yeah, it's pretty bad.
Looks worse in real life.
Tomorrow when it starts to bruise he'll probably look like Harry Potter- the boy who lived.
Don't worry, I'll give him a kiss from you to make him feel better.

Monday, November 8, 2010

Mmmmm!! Vienna Sausages are delicious!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

And now for a fashion show featuring some outfits we got in Texas.

First, the Texas longhorn outfit.
Matches his hair perfectly.
Also accents his belly.

And next this shirt which we purchased in the Houston Airport after about 6 ounces of formula was spilled the shirt he was wearing.
I looked for one his size that said "Don't Mess With Texas", but couldn't find one, so this one had to do:
"I may be small, but I'm big on Texas!"

Saturday, November 6, 2010

Our church had a Turkey Trot this morning.
Seeing as how we were awake (someone is NOT adjusting back from Texas time very well) we decided to go.
We didn't run the 5k or the "mini gobbler" (1 mile).
We did our own walk.
Which means we came in first!!!

Also, look who was ok to stand on the grass!
Feetie jammies make everything ok.

Sunday October 31, 2010- Thursday November 4th, 2010

Our trip to Texas was a success!

On the way there Preston could not have been better. He didn't need any snacks or toys. He just played with the window shade & looked around & slept for a lot of the time in the air.
We had a layover in San Antonio and he got to stretch his legs and play for awhile.

There was a lot of driving involved in the trip. My family lives in Lufkin which is about 2 1/2 hours from the Houston airport. Luckily I was able to keep Preston entertained during our drives into and around town.

We put this Elmo hat on him while we were in a store and were amazed that he kept it on the whole time! He doesn't seem to mind hats at all. So of course he had to have the hat!!

It's a beautiful area where they live and we went on walks and saw lots of horses.

He loved being outside & seeing the animals.

The horses weren't too sure about him though. . .

We got to see our friends Allison & Rebecca and play with them!
(Allie is only 2 weeks younger then Preston)

We tried on more hats. . .

We got our hair styled.
(it's getting long up top!)

We spent lots of time cuddling & playing & sending pictures to Patrick (who we missed like CRAZY!!)

We went to lunch at this place called Cheddars. It's phenomenal. The best place to get a Monte Cristo. Or so I heard. Several times.

We played with mirrors, and with friends.

We spent some time outside watching for critters (they have deer, opossums, armadillos, raccoons, and squirrels that get fed there). I was really surprised at all the tree's that were there. I picture Texas as flat land. But where we were was like a forest!

I was trying to mimic the face Preston was making.

There is even a Troll Bridge!!

Logs are ok, but he doesn't want to touch the grass.

He was in love with the giant tractor!
Just like a boy.

And of course he got spoiled by this lady, my Aunt Carla! She would take him out to sit on the porch swing, look at squirrels, watch the lights she hung up just for him. He loved it all.

This is in their front yard. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!?!

Thank you Carla & Chuck for being such good hosts & letting us invade your house for a few days!

Our trip ended too soon.
The flight home didn't go as well as the flights out there. There was some screaming & tears & back arching (from Preston, not me). But luckily everyone was SUPER nice & we didn't get any glares or comments.
We were very very happy to get back home to the ones we missed so much.
