Our trip to Texas was a success!
On the way there Preston could not have been better. He didn't need any snacks or toys. He just played with the window shade & looked around & slept for a lot of the time in the air.
We had a layover in San Antonio and he got to stretch his legs and play for awhile.
There was a lot of driving involved in the trip. My family lives in Lufkin which is about 2 1/2 hours from the Houston airport. Luckily I was able to keep Preston entertained during our drives into and around town.
We put this Elmo hat on him while we were in a store and were amazed that he kept it on the whole time! He doesn't seem to mind hats at all. So of course he had to have the hat!!
It's a beautiful area where they live and we went on walks and saw lots of horses.
He loved being outside & seeing the animals.
The horses weren't too sure about him though. . .
We got to see our friends Allison & Rebecca and play with them!
(Allie is only 2 weeks younger then Preston)
We tried on more hats. . .
We got our hair styled.
(it's getting long up top!)
We spent lots of time cuddling & playing & sending pictures to Patrick (who we missed like CRAZY!!)
We went to lunch at this place called Cheddars. It's phenomenal. The best place to get a Monte Cristo. Or so I heard. Several times.
We played with mirrors, and with friends.
We spent some time outside watching for critters (they have deer, opossums, armadillos, raccoons, and squirrels that get fed there). I was really surprised at all the tree's that were there. I picture Texas as flat land. But where we were was like a forest!
I was trying to mimic the face Preston was making.
There is even a Troll Bridge!!
Logs are ok, but he doesn't want to touch the grass.
He was in love with the giant tractor!
Just like a boy.
And of course he got spoiled by this lady, my Aunt Carla! She would take him out to sit on the porch swing, look at squirrels, watch the lights she hung up just for him. He loved it all.
This is in their front yard. Isn't it gorgeous?!?!?!
Thank you Carla & Chuck for being such good hosts & letting us invade your house for a few days!
Our trip ended too soon.
The flight home didn't go as well as the flights out there. There was some screaming & tears & back arching (from Preston, not me). But luckily everyone was SUPER nice & we didn't get any glares or comments.
We were very very happy to get back home to the ones we missed so much.
