We celebrated the New Year early this evening since we wont be awake for the big show at midnight.
Still fun.

Thursday, December 30, 2010

It started snowing here for a few minutes, so we ran outside to take a picture of Preston's first encounter with snow. Wow it was cold! And windy! Hence the reason we're both reacting the way we are.

Drum roll please. . . .

I love that not only can you see his physical growth, but also how his personality has changed and developed over the last 50 weeks.
2 weeks till he turns 1.
Unbelievable.
Just like Preston.

It's very possible that Preston may grow up to become a dentist. He spends a lot of him time trying to get you to open your mouth and looking at your teeth.

Happy 5th birthday Lexi!
Thanks for inviting us to your party!!

Sunday, December 26, 2010

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!

We had a GREAT day. Preston was the first one awake, and the first one to open a present. He's SUCH a good gift reciever! Every present he opened he would say "ooohhh" or "ahhhh". It was fantastic.

Friday, December 24, 2010

Today was our annual Christmas Eve party at Patrick's Mom's house (aka Nana).
Everyone shows up in pajamas and much food is eaten and gifts are opened and its all around good times.

Preston wore his new Toy Story jammies.
I pulled them out this morning to show him them and he looked right at them and made a noise that sounded just like "wow"!

He opened his first ever present.
Last week the sound of wrapping paper made him cry, but this week it seems to be ok!

(hi carly)

He had a few other gifts to open today, and by the end of it all he had a pretty good haul!
2 Christmas jammies (which will be PERFECT for tomorrow!!), a new sweatshirt, a laugh & learn puppy, an elephant puppet, 3 puzzles and blocks that come in a case with his name on it.

He spent the rest of the day playing with all his new toys.

Thank you so much to everyone who gave Preston a present. I know there are lots of people out there who love this kid almost as much as we do, and I'm so grateful for everything everyone does for him :)

Run run Rudolph!

Monday, December 20, 2010

We went and saw the lights at the Temple tonight.
I wish I could say Preston really enjoyed it, but the truth is he was more then a little fussy.
Luckily we managed to capture a smile.

Sunday, December 19, 2010

Christmas just wouldn't be complete without a great Christmas sweater!

Saturday, December 18, 2010

Boys who eat all their dinner get a treat!
Preston's 1st Oreo.

Delicious.

Friday, December 17, 2010

Dear Preston's front teeth,
Since your appearance you've turned my sweet smiley boy into a feverish whiny boy with no appetite who only wants to be held by his mom. Please come down. This is my Christmas wish.
Sincerely,
The parents of Mr. Preston P. Reynolds

Today was Todd's (or Papa Todd as Preston calls him) birthday!

Preston loves hanging out with him and Ginger.

Wednesday, December 15, 2010

Preston took his bath in the big bathtub tonight. He didn't quite get the hang of splashing around and was very interested in the faucet, but overall he was happy.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

You know what they say... An apple a day keeps the doctor away!
But that doesn't explain why he looks so serious.

Monday, December 13, 2010

Preston is 11 months old today!!!!

STATS:
About 22lbs
Still tall.
Size 4 diapers
Size 12 mo clothes except still can wear size 6 mo. pants (his height is ALL torso)
Size 3-4 Shoes
Hair: RED
Eyes: Brown/Hazel/Grey/Golden

FUN THINGS ABOUT PRESTON AT 11 MONTHS:

*Has 2 bottom teeth, and it looks like Christmas has come early because his 2 front teeth have just broken through!

*LOVES peek-a-boo. He will play peek-a-boo anytime with anything. Even if he doesn't have anything to cover his face with he will hold his hands up as if he is holding something over his face then bring them down. He also will hide his face on things like the floor, the slide, basically anything to play peek-a-boo.

*Has recently discovered that he can sing and dance and shows off his moves in church while standing up in the pew and dancing during the songs.

*He has become a really really picky eater and I'm NOT happy about it. He refuses to eat baby food anymore, but doesn't want regular grown up food. Mostly he wants snacks such as fig newtons, crackers, yogurt melts, and bread. There are some foods he does love, like pancakes, yogurt, grilled cheese sandwiches, lunch meat, mac & cheese and quesadillas. If anyone has ANY suggestions on what I can do to get him to eat, PLEASE advise.

*If we're not looking at him he'll try to get our attention by standing on his own & putting his arms in the air.

*Loves to clap and say "yaay" while doing it. Only it doesn't sound like yay when he says it.

*Is obsessed with pulling things down. He'll empty out our dvd case just because he can, not because he likes the noise. Same goes with the books on this bookshelf. He'll just walk across and pull them all off.

*Still working on walking. He'll hold on with one hand and walk when he's in a good mood.

*If he's in the right mood he'll mimic your voice or sounds that you make. He has a voice he uses when he's imitating me, which is called his "mommy voice". It's very high pitched. He gets in moods where he'll just scream as loud as he can just to hear his voice.

I don't think we could love Preston more then we already do. 11 months later and we're still obsessed with him. Every stage becomes our favorite stage, and everyday he makes us laugh. He's just a really happy baby who is extremely adorable :D

Only a few more doses of medicine left for Preston!
He's MUCH better now, but I think he's going to miss the delicious bubble gum tasting Amoxicillin.

Saturday, December 11, 2010

Everyday I try to go over flashcards with Preston to help him start to recognize colors/shapes/basic words.

He's always very interested in the words he recognizes like "ball", "dog", "banana".
And I can always tell when flashcard time is done because he'll start throwing the cards. But for those 5-10 minutes that he's interested in the cards he remains very focused.

Friday, December 10, 2010

Candace made Preston these super groovy pajama pants.
There's just something about him wearing regular pajamas that makes him seem so much older.

Thursday, December 9, 2010

Preston had his picture taken with Santa at the mall today.
It's pretty much perfect!

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Preston's a pretty good shopping buddy:
Also, since all you'll see is the back of his head please admire the glorious amounts of hair he has.

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

My friend Allyce made Preston his very own Christmas stocking thats pretty much perfect for him!!!

Monday, December 6, 2010

Tonight we said goodbye to Bree, our good friend who is going on a mission for our church.
When she comes back Preston will be 2 1/2 years old.
Crazy.
We'll miss her.

Sunday, December 5, 2010

Preston's friend Gabe let him borrow a new toy.
His favorite is the little laptop that opens & closes.
It also helps him with his standing & walking around.

He's doing much better today.
No fever, less coughing, more smiles.

Saturday, December 4, 2010

Want to see the saddest thing ever?!?!

Had to take Preston to Urgent Care this morning after a rough night of coughing/congestion kept us up.
Diagnosis:
Double ear infection & croup.

Antibiotics for the ears, and breathing treatments 4-5 times a day for the croup.
We'll follow up with his pediatrician in a few days to make sure he is healing well.
For the most part he is in good spirits. When he gets tired then he seems to get extra emotional & miserable.
Poor Preston. Poor poor Preston.

Friday, December 3, 2010

Tonight was our ward Christmas Party.
Preston is such a good sport to let me dress him up.
He left the antlers on all night.
He's so great.

He even got to see Santa!
He was very interested in the beard & in the bells Mrs. Claus was ringing.

Thursday, December 2, 2010

Look what we can do!

Wednesday, December 1, 2010

Preston is pretty much a peek-a-boo master at this point.
He'll play in the car, with his yogurt melt bag, basically anything he gets his hands on.
He's always so proud when he manages to "surprise" you when you ask "where'd Preston go?"

Also, it's worth noting that today he stood on his own and balanced for 8 seconds! CRAZY!!
