Preston LOVES to climb up by our dvd's and play. Usually his playing involves pulling out as many dvd's as he can before he gets stopped, but today he just wanted to sit up there with his Mario Kart steering wheel & play.

He's getting to the point where if we pull out our phones to take a picture and tell him to "say cheese" he'll look up and smile & then try to say cheese. It usually comes out sounding like geeee, but he still gives a big smile. Like this one.

This Summer is destined to be the Summer of 1,000 popsicle's.
Lucky for me after a few bites its too cold for Preston and he just wants to hold it while I eat it.

Preston has a new favorite song, Old MacDonald.
He tries to sing along, but he's not so good at hitting the "O" in E-I-E-I-O.

Sometimes after a rough morning the best thing to do is to snuggle in the big bed with some cookies.

Being a boy Preston has found a new way to have fun with the slide.
It involves pushing it over and then trying to climb from one side to the other.

Sometimes he just chills out in the middle though.

ALSO, our church father & sons camp out is at the end of April and Preston can only go if he is walking (family rule). This gives us 26 days to get him moving. Let me make it clear Preston CAN walk, he just chooses NOT to walk. So if anyone has any suggestions or things that worked for them, or even just some crazy idea you've read about, let us know! He'd really really like camping. . .

Preston has such a sweet little voice that he uses to read books.
Until he gets to his Spiderman & Friends Superhero book.
Then the voice becomes more serious. . . . .

Today marks 1 year that Andrew (my brother, Preston's uncle) has been on his mission. 1 year down, 1 year to go!!

And just as a reminder, this is what Preston looked like 1 yr ago today when Andrew left.

Uh-Oh. . .

If Preston doesn't have shoes on he will remove his socks as fast as he can.
But he's at the point now where if you say "Where are you socks?! Put your socks back on!" he will try to put them back on.

Preston's a jokester all the way up to the minute he goes to bed.
His latest joke is putting his foot up when you cover him up with his blanket.
He loves when you proclaim "Your foot is up" and give it a little shake.

Remember this book that Preston got awhile ago, "Tails" with lots of crinkle things and soft things? Well we lost it when we went to Texas back in October, and we have missed it ever since.

WELL. Last Sunday I told the lady who made it for us about how we miss it and today she came to church with a new book for Preston!!! It's SO AWESOME!! It's more of a quiet book with lots of things for him to button, snap, velcro and even a monkey with magnetic hands.

Its fantastic!! Thanks to the book Preston was the quietest he's been in church in a long time!!

We're gearing up for Summer since it's already hot (upper 80's).
Today we wore sunscreen & got a new Summer hat.

Remember last St. Patricks Day?!?

We've come a long way since then!!
Yep. Totally stuck him back in that onesie today.
It was snug, but worth it.

Who knew all it would take to get Preston to drink from a straw was a trip to Texas Roadhouse.

We should have done this ages ago.

Twice a day Preston helps me water our garden.
About 42 times a day he crawls to the back door to try to go outside & check on the garden.
He's very attentive.

When Preston was just a few weeks old a lactation specialist told us he was tongue tied and that unless we had his tongue clipped he'd never be able to stick out his tongue. We disagreed with her, and we'd just like to say . . . .

His tongue sticks out just fine.

We could think of no better way to celebrate Preston turning 14 months old then to break out the shorts!
He also celebrated by having massive bed head, but you can't see it in the pictures.

Happy birthday to Jen! We're glad we could eat eggrolls & angel food cake in your honor.

Preston is feeling MUCH better today. I think it helped that he got a new book in the mail!! It's an ABC of How I Love You book that plays the "Abc" song and lights up and has a spot to put his picture!! Lucky for us we have lots of picture of Preston to chose from ;D

We sat and looked at it LOTS today.

It may seem like he's afraid to touch it, but thats not the case. He loves to open and close it, point at the lights the flash & also at his picture.

Those rosy cheeks have been Preston's constant companion today....

Preston woke up this morning (early) with a fever & a rapid heartbeat/increased respirations. For a little boy his age he should take between 25-31 breaths a minute and he was breathing about 55-67/minute. So after a call to the Dr. office triage nurse she told us to bring him in right away. His temp has been around 101 all day. The doctor said his ears, lungs, throat and nose are clear, along with everything else coming out ok in his examination. He said we'll just have to watch it the next few days and see what happens. In the meantime he's getting LOTS of cool baths, which he dislikes along with tylenol & grape juice, his favorite. My poor baby! Seems like he can't get a break from sickness. But as you can see he's so sweet.

Our new favorite pre-bed ritual: going out to find the moon.

Preston got some new jammies (lightweight for the summer) and I dunno, they just make him look so much older!!!

Preston was causing all kinds of shenanigans today.

First, he was playing and I was looking for a recipe & not paying attention to him as he tried to get my attention from the other side of the baby gate, so he took his pants off and threw them at me.

Next, while we were having dinner Noah was in Preston's walker and as soon as Preston got down he started pushing Noah all around the kitchen and into corners.

Someone was caught trying to make a break for it.
He was not happy to be caught.

Today we went to a place called Sea Life Arizona.
It's an aquarium in Tempe and we got to see all kinds of fish, sharks and sea creatures. Preston even got to touch a starfish!
He had a fun time looking at everything.

(p.s- if your wondering if you should check out Sea Life I suggest going if you have a coupon. We bought our tickets through Groupon, and after going I don't think I would pay full price to go. But it was still fun!)

Preston got a letter in the mail from his 2nd cousin Shay (who he loves and misses VERY much).
He was quite anxious to see what was inside. . .

Then we read it a few times. . .

And then in typical Preston fashion he tried to eat it.

Getting mail is always fun!!!

Preston loves to watch the turtle (Lou Lou), especially when she is eating a worm.

While I'm getting dressed or putting makeup on Preston takes it upon himself to find me just the right hair accessories.
Sometimes he has to take everything out before he finds the perfect one.

We did it!!!
1 whole year of taking a picture/video of Preston every single day!
Preston was happy to hear we did it :D

It really doesn't seem like that long ago we posted our very first entry (here).
I'm going to try to keep posting everyday. It'll be hard not to since we're so use to finding any photo opportunity we can, but if we miss a day here and there, sorry.
We hope you've enjoyed the past year seeing Preston grow and develop in pictures and video. We certainly have enjoyed sharing our memories with you.
