We wont be posting any pictures for the next few days.
Patrick is whisking me away for a few days in honor of my birthday!
And it will be a Preston free weekend.
My first time away from Preston since... EVER.
I'd be more nervous if I wasn't leaving him in such great hands :)
There will still be pictures taken everyday, I'll just post them once we get home.

Oh and by the way, P-Rex is practically a walker now! He will walk back and forth from one couch to another. Happy birthday to me.

This is what it looks like when Preston is hyper. . . .

Tonight we went and said goodbye to our friend, and Krissa's brother, Tylon who leaves tomorrow for his mission.

Preston's hair pretty much matches Tylon's tie.

Preston's lucky he has such a nice Daddy who will take him on long walks to get the mail.
You'll notice that in his left hand Preston is holding a set of keys. If you mention getting the mail to him he HAS to hold the keys for you.

Preston got a new suit for Easter.
Doesn't he look so handsome?!

I bet you wish this little bunny was coming to visit your house tomorrow :D

Preston has a new favorite spot he goes to read books.
It's in the drawer where we keep his books.
He'll empty the whole thing out, climb inside and then sit and read.

Part of our daily routine outside is pushing the wind chime.

Preston did a lot of walking practice today.
And there were even points tonight where he seemed to enjoy it!
Soon he'll be a walker... never mind that I've been saying that for about 4 months now....
I do think it's funny that he always walks with his arms in the same position!

Today was Preston's 15 month checkup!

Weight: 24.2lbs (50th %)
Length: 32 inches (75%)
Head Circumference: 49cm (90%)

It was nice to actually go to the doctor and get to sit on the "well" side for once! His weight has dropped some, and on his growth chart you can see how it spikes and then goes down and then back up. This is mostly due to him being sick so much, but will balance out.
I asked about him walking, because while Preston CAN walk, he choses NOT to walk. The doctor said the average age for a walker is 13mo, so he's not too far behind, and that there really isn't much we can do since it isn't a muscle issue, its more of a confidence issue. We still work on it everyday, and the past few days he's been taking little steps between things on his own, so he's getting the hang of it!
His adenoids were discussed, and due to the fact Preston is a BIG mouth breather, snores and gets colds/earaches/sinus infections often he does think that they are enlarged. However he wants to wait and see if he grows into them. If he doesn't then eventually we'll have them removed which is no big deal.

Even though his eating is getting better and he's learning to like new things Preston still has very little interest in meats, so we're going to be trying out giving him a vitamin. Hopefully this will also help him get less sick.

Then came the part where he got 2 shots & cried on the 2nd one like his feelings were hurt. He has a very distinct hurt feelings cry that involves a big bottom lip and huge tears. It didn't last long though once he realized he would get a sucker- which is what he is eating in the picture.

The doctor proclaimed Preston to be delightful (DUH!) and was very pleased with his overall progress.

Preston's vocabulary is getting larger and larger. He picks up on words so quick now, and mimics us whenever we give him a new word to say.
Here is just a small snippet of the words he says.

Lately we've been making a lot of malts & shakes & smoothies.
Preston loves them all.
So much so that he now has to have his own cup & straw otherwise if your sharing with him he will chant "bite bite bite" over and over until you give him a drink.

This afternoon we took some extended family pictures.
In between takes we took a few of our own.

Tonight was a ward fundraiser where they had 2 of Preston's favorite things.

1. Cornbread

2. A Bluegrass band.

Seriously, he loved it.

The taller Preston gets, the longer his reach is.

Oh Preston. I can't believe today you are 15 months old.

Yep. I thought so.

Last night we got Preston a new bike. He went to bed before it was assembled so today he got to enjoy it for the first time. He LOVES it!!!

He likes to be a daredevil and stand up on the seat.

When his Daddy came home he got to try it out outside.

And then Noah, John and Rox came over and Preston challenged them to a race.
They respectfully declined.

As you can see in this video, he's not just smiling for the camera while posed on his bike, he truly loves being on it & being pushed around.

Lately Preston has been wanting to do a lot of drawing.
We're working on the "only on the paper" concept... One of my kitchen tiles still has purple crayon on it....

Preston is OBSESSED with our printer. If your near the computer he will come over and pull on the tray, turn it on and off and stick things in the scanner. Currently there is a CD in there.

Clipping Preston's nails has turned into a 2 person job. One person to hold him and clip his nails while the other distracts him by showing him random YouTube videos. Otherwise he wants to do it himself.

Yesterday I noticed Preston was starting to get a small rash on his chest. I thought that it was a skin irritation from him wearing a shirt I hadn't washed since we bought it, but when he woke up this morning it was MUCH worse. The rash, which is not raised and doesn't seem to bother him at all is red spots that range in size from a pin prick to the size of a pencil eraser. Since he'd been fighting off a fever all week and runny nose we decided to have it checked out. Lucky for us the doctor said it's from his cold virus and actually is a sign that he was getting better. Odd, but ok. We thought we were getting off easy. Then he discovered Preston has a double ear infection. *sigh* Poor kid can't catch a break. This explains why he's been so extremely fussy and whiny all week long. Hopefully in a few days he'll be back to his usual tricks.

How do you keep a Preston busy for hours? Ok, more like minutes...
Give him a glasses case to play with. He will sit and open and shut that thing over and over again.

For the last few days Preston has been wanting to feed himself with his spoon or fork at mealtime.
Applesauce is a hard one to get the hang of, but he's gotta learn somehow!

Preston's new favorite trick is finding his belly.
If you say "Preston, where's your belly?" usually he will lift up his shirt and start patting it.
Of course sometimes he'll lift up his shirt and show you his belly without even being asked.

He looks so happy in this picture that you'd never guess he's been running a fever of over 101 all day. Thanks to some new medicine tonight he's feeling much better. I hope it lasts!

Now THAT is some red hair!!!

So I got a new phone yesterday, and as you can see today Preston was pretty excited to discover he could look at himself & take a picture at the same time.

Preston got to see his GF Rylie tonight.
And yes, the night did end with him giving her a kiss.... in her hair.

Huh.... He's never done this one before....
